  13. I would appreciate if anyone can give me info on what is minimally
  14. needed to capture video images on the PC?

  16. Here's our application.  We have recently purchased a Polaroid slide maker
  17. which can make nice slides of graphs, graphics, text slides at 4,000 lines
  18. per inch from something like Freelance, etc, which grad students/faculty 
  19. use for seminars, symposia, talks, etc.

  21. What would be even better, or complement this, is if we could obtain 
  22. graphic images on computer from a video source (VCR camera?) that could be
  23. brought up in, again say Freelance, then overlayed with text to point out
  24. what we want to illustrate, and then shuttled over to the slide maker.

  26. I know this could be done with scanned images, but that would again require 
  27. playing with flat images (photographs?).  We would prefer the video 
  28. capability so that 3-dimensional images (engineering equipment, etc) can be
  29. captured directly without the need to first obtain photographs.

  31. What would we need? A frame grabber card, video hookup, software?  What is 
  32. the available software for this on PC (commercial and/or public domain)?
