  15. In spite of some fruitless attempts I'll try it again:

  17. Does anybody know where to find predefined colormaps / palettes with
  18. 256 entries of RGB values (or some other color model)? I don't believe
  19. there is nobody out there using some sort of colormap. Especially I'm
  20. looking for a colormap with as many perceptually distinct colors as 
  21. possible. If you have any information, please let me know. I've been 
  22. trying to find some maps for a long time already. I will post useful 
  23. responses to this newsgroup.
