  13. Hi, I'm trying to learn how to use GNU Emacs 18.55.5 running on
  14. my Sun 3 (Sun OS 4.0.3, I think) and I've already run in a
  15. problem with my setup. I would like to use my Left and Right
  16. keys as the Meta key so I set the meta-flag variable to t in
  17. my .emacs file. The problem is, if I use Meta-v to move back up
  18. a screen (using the Left or Right as Meta) and I have something
  19. in one of the SunView selection buffers like ttyselection,
  20. I move back up a screen, but I also get whatever is in ttyselection
  21. pasted in at the cursor point. I'm invoking GNU Emacs by typing
  22. 'emacstool -f emacstool-init' and I'm thinking GNU Emacs is
  23. getting confused because Left-v is the 'paste' command for SunView
  24. applications like mailtool and textedit. Any ideas on how I
  25. can get around this problem?
