  12. Dumb calculation regarding screen update:

  14. Let's see... 80x24 = 1920.  At 9600 bps, with zero overhead, you should
  15. get 9600/8 = 1200 cps.  So a screen will take 1920/1200 = 1.60 seconds.
  16. If you really get 4-1 compression, a screen will take 0.40 seconds.  So
  17. I guess I don't really consider that blindingly fast -- takes you 4 seconds
  18. to page through a 240 line article, absolute best case.

  20. My Worldblazer to T+ connection, which tells me it is talking at 18k bps,
  21. appears to take about 1.2 seconds to refresh this screen.  That sort of
  22. seems in the ballpark, considering all the variables.

  24. Seems like interactive response is a difficult thing to judge.
