- Hi
-
- I'm using a USR Courier V32bis modem ( manufactured date is 1992 ) from home
- dialling into our modem pool at work. The modem pool is manned by a few
- Microcom QX/4232bis's. Due to security reasons the Microcom's has
- to call us back.
-
- Here's the problem: I'm able to connect at 14000/ARQ. I enter my userid and
- the required password. The Micrcom hangs up and proceeds to do a call back.
- I get a connect 14000 ( no ARQ ) and immediately a DISCONNECT.
-
- I am, however, able to successfully log onto the system at 9600 baud by
- setting ATS34=3 on the Courier.
-
- Why am I able to connect at 14000 when I dial in, but when the Courier
- answers, it DISCONNECTS? Is this a problem with the USR when doing
- auto-answering?
-
- I also notice that after doing an ATZ, the modem doesn't seem to respond
- to any further AT commands. Seems there's something wrong with the Courier.
-
- Here's my configuration:
-
- Telix 3.15 with init string: ATX6&H1&N0 S7=55S0=1^M

-
- I also have an older model of the Courier V32bis ( DIP switches are on the
- back as oppose to being underneath the modem ). I have no problem with
- this modem when connecting to the modem pool. I get perfect 14000/ARQ
- connection all the time. This model was manufactured in 1990.
-
- Is there a difference between the two Courier V32bis?
