- With MNP and other compression, you should set your DTE speed higher than
- your BPS so that (for uncompressed files, anyway) the modem receives data
- from your processor fast enough to compress at UP TO 4:1 and send at
- 14,400 bps. This means a DTE rate of 57,600. That speed is supported by
- at least a few comm programs and should insure proper performance of your
- new modem.
