- i somehow enabled the escape code stuff, and got these messages in
- the middle of reading my mail (using ``+'' to page through the
- email). it took me awhile to figure out what was going on.

- the ``+ + +'' thing, with or without a guard time, is a gross,
- unreliable hack. i can't see why anoyone would brag about a
- misfeature like this.

- the closest i've come to using it is this: i use break to drop
- me into command mode when debugging. the only problem is that
- there's no command to generate a break from command mode (if you
- really wanted to send a break).
