  31. i somehow enabled the escape code stuff, and got these messages in
  32. the middle of reading my mail (using ``+'' to page through the
  33. email).  it took me awhile to figure out what was going on.

  35. the ``+ + +'' thing, with or without a guard time, is a gross,
  36. unreliable hack.  i can't see why anoyone would brag about a
  37. misfeature like this.

  39. the closest i've come to using it is this:  i use break to drop
  40. me into command mode when debugging.  the only problem is that
  41. there's no command to generate a break from command mode (if you
  42. really wanted to send a break).
