- For those who have noted problems with the PPI external modems losing
- their V.42 and/or MNP abilities after a few hours, PPI does indeed have
- a beta EPROM available (as several netters have noted). The version
- number is, I believe, 1.14g. Call Tech Support at (805) 496-7707 and
- ask them for the new EPROM. They will say they don't know what you are
- talking about. Be firm. They will then deny that there is a new EPROM.
- Eventually, if you persist, you'll be asked for your phone number, and
- someone will call you back to get your address to send the chip to you.

- BTW, has anyone else noticed that PPI's quality control seems to be
- a bit spotty, to say the least?
