- Why? Are these modems not compatible with any existing standard (e.g.
- V.32bis)?

- USRobotics has promised to upgrade their small-box Courier V.32bis and
- Courier HST Dual Standard modems to V.fast when it arrives, and they're
- compatible with an existing standard; USR's Courier line isn't as cheap as,
- say, Supra but they're probably less expansive than the Motorola CODEX
- product.
