- You may have to set your modem to blind dialling. 'Tis true that the phone
- lines use different frequencies in different countries, so your modem may
- not recognise that the call is progressing ok. You don't say what the
- fault symptoms are.

- On the other hand, at all speeds 2400 bps and up, the modems' tones are the
