- 14.4k is generally coupled with v.42bis so that the rate you
- will need to talk to your modem goes up. If you're using v.32bis
- with v.42bis data compression, you will need to talk to your modem
- at 57.6k (which most comm packages DO support). In fact, I think
- all modems that have anything higher than 2400 allow you to talk to
- the modem at a faster rate than the connection speed of the modem
- actually goes. Check your manual for further information.
