- Strange. I have an external Zoom v.32bisFAX which I bought about
- a month anda half ago. I've never had any problems even
- though my serial chip is a generic 16450 UART. I'm using Telix 3.15, but
- other software such as Microphone II for Windows works fine. I
- don't get any errors in transferring, and average 1650 cps using
- Zmodem with zipped files.
-
- In Windows though, I occasionally get errors while transferring
- files over the modem, but this is due the crappy multitasking
- capabilities of Win 3.0/3.1 and my lack of the 16550 UART. When
- two separate programs try to access the hd at the same time (e.g
- Microphone II accesses disk to write download while Word 2.0 is
- accessing the hd) are the only times I get these errors.
- I've heard Win 3.1 multitask fine with the 16550 without
- errors.
