- I am familiar with the following software:
-
- uucp -- requires too much set up time
- tip/cu/etc -- doesn't do a good job of binary file transfers
- kermit -- doesn't seem to do a good job of binary file
- transfers and only knows kermit protocol
- pro yam -- to bizarre
-
- I really want a *simple* modem program that supports kermit and
- [xyz]modem transfers so that my wife can call BBS's from her Unix
- workstation and download data at a reasonable rate. (She has a
- WorldBlazer.)
-
- Does anybody have suggestions for an inexpensive package that meets
- these critera?
-
- Is kermit supposed to be able to do binary transfers? My files keep
- getting corrupted at CR and LF characters.
-
- Thanks,
-
-
- Tim
