- I will be moving to Paris this October, and want to buy
- a high speed modem to dial back into networks here in the
- US, and wonder what features I should pay attention to
- in a modem that can handle the lines from France (and later
- Germany) to the US.

- My brother just tried to call some modems in the US with
- his new Zyxel from Germany, and despite that the lines
- sound pretty good acoustically, the effective speed he got
- was more like 300 baud.
- What's the problem there?
- Does anyone have experience and advise? Thanks!
