- Your comm program probably configures the modem to ignore DTR. Unlike
- other modems I've seen, the Supra reacts to this by setting the TR
- light on. My EasyData modem just ignored DTR and showed the TR light
- when DTR was high, else not. Good for debugging purposes, e.g. Oops,
- there goes the program, does the serial.device remain locked?

- I suspect you have some shielding problems. Maybe the bell causes a
- voltage surge that is transmitted through ground to the Supra and its
- speaker? Check your shielding, if your ground varies it might cause
- serious problems some day (like power surges).
