  14.     I want to do something simple, to send a WP 5.1 document out a
  15. fax-card the way it looks when I print it on paper.  I started asking
  16. questions at the local computer super store and boy was I bewildered
  17. with the answers.  Can someone help me?  Or am I beyond help?
  18. Stop me now and put me out of my misery if what I want is not

  24. Before I lay out my hard earned cash for a fax-card:

  26. 1)  I want to get the minimum configuration I need (I am recently
  27.     unemployed so read that cheap) to send DOS Word Perfect 5.1
  28.     with imbeded image and variable size fonts over fax.
  29.     Simple request, right?  Well... you weren't at the store.

  34. I use the most popular word processor so answers to these questions 
  35. would probably be of interest to many in this group.  I will summarize
  36. to this group because there seems to be a lot of confusion on this
  37. subject.  I haven't seen answers to what I am looking for and there
  38. are others asking similar questions.

  40. I am unemployed and want to be able to send resumes and cover letters
  41. to these ads that give out their fax number.  My resume has variable
  42. size fonts in it.  My cover letters have my signature.

  44. I use DOS WordPerfect 5.1 on my SX with Hercules display.  I know
  45. how to import images into documents.  I could import my signature
  46. into a document so I can include it on cover letters.  I would sign
  47. a peice of paper and have someone fax that peice of paper to the fax
  48. card that I would buy. I could then use WP's GRAB utility to copy
  49. the signature part of that received fax into an image which would
  50. be included in my WordPerfect 5.1 cover letter.  Now I would have
  51. a cover letter with a signature in it in WordPerfect 5.1 format.
  52. It also has variable size fonts. My name on the top line is much
  53. larger, my address is darker (10 pitch bold instead of 12) and it
  54. has the image of my signature in it.

  59. 2)  If someone has this working, would you tell me what your
  60.     configuration is and what SW you use and what SW steps you
  61.     go through to send faxes like the above in DOS.

  64. 3)  AdTech, Zoltrix and Zoom are all around $73 in Computer Shopper.
  65.     Will any of these do (or not do) the above job in DOS?  Will
  66.     they send the combinded compound document cover letter from DOS?
  67.     Is there a better choice?  (I don't need a regular modem)

  71. 4a) OR, Am I finally going to be dragged kicking and screaming
  72.     into Windows?  Will I have to go to Windows 3.1 and
  73.     WordPerfect for Windows with additional software to
  74.     do the job?  Or do I need different software?

  78. 4c) What Windows steps do I have to go through to send my
  79.     compound document cover letter?

  86.     send a better image?  I like to send good images if
  87.     possible.          Would Windows make a difference?

  96. 7a) What is class 2 in five words or less, a fax co-pressor?

  99.     really want a (pseudo) class 2 card?  My calls should

  104.     configuration?  Am I asking for too much?  Should I be
  105.     using snail mail for this?

  109.     laid off.  Can someone send me the FAQ for comp.dcom.fax.
