- hello, The company I work are just moving into 4Gl's and for several
- reasons we have decided to plump for Informix. Now the first project
- that we are to work on is a system for around 20 Users, running
- on a 50Mhz 486, SCO System 4 Unix box. We shall be running Informix
- Online. Given that of these users maybe 4 or 5 will be doing a
- moderately high volume of data entry, and maybe one or two others will
- be doing moderately complex queries
- How fast can we expect the machine to run?
- we of course need to size the system before we give our final
- recommendations to the company we are writing for. And unfortunately
- the Informix people are VERY cagey about suggesting any performance
- type figures.
-
- Is our suggested system sensible (running with a big fast hard disk)
- any opinions will be greatly appreciated. Please Email them to me
- as I have trouble keeping up with all the net traffic.
