  13. sorry you were dissapointed.  i can't comment on versant's or others'
  14. policies, but we do protect our documentation, product, and certain internal
  15. design concepts under  non-disclosure and otherwise.  (i believe this is
  16. common in the database and software industries).  however, we do give
  17. out product literature discussing the capabilities, invite prospective
  18. customers to demos, arrange for training programs, evaluations, consulting
  19. and joint projects, present articles and oral presentations (e.g., at last
  20. sigmod we spoke in some detail about our fully distributed and heterogeneous
  21. architecture, unique in the databse world).
