- Hi,
-
- Our group is planning to purchase an OODBMS. We are asking for
- working experience with OODBMS from your folks.
-
- We are developing a data review, analysis and monitoring application
- system. The application is kind of an expert system. Currently it's
- implemented in Lisp using a knowledge representation language called
- LOOM. But we need to use an OODBMS for system scaling up and
- persistence. Now we looking at two OODBMS, Itasca and ObjectStore.
- It's greatly appreciated if you can tell us your experience with
- Itasca or ObjectStore, or any other OODBMS in the following aspects.
-
- 1. Application Programming Interface
- . host programming language (HPL), interaction of HPL and DB;
- . object persistence mechanism;
- . query;
- . object manipulation.
-
- 2 Performance: Is it fast enough for your application? Please also
- specify your machine and your applicaiton scale.
-
- 3. Reliability: crashes and bugs?
-
- 4. Database facility/utilities, eg recovery, import/export;
-
- 5. after-sale support: they are responsible, prompt, and friendly?
-
- Thanks a lot.
