- I have helped clients convert from several popular DBMSs to Progress. I have
- never found anyone who wanted or needed to convert in the other direction.
- The only things some clients have complained about has been lack of support
- for objects, such as BLOBs, graphics, or sound. Today at the ObjectWorld
- show I saw Progress being used with an OODBMS engine, ObjectStore, being
- used to provide non-text data. The combination, due out in the 4th quarter
- of 1992, looks like it is going to be a winner.
-
- My advice: Convert to Progress asap. You'll never regret it.
