- All NBC Olypmics production is being done in the PAL standard. The NTSC standards
- conversion occurs at the satellite feed, i.e., the last step before sending it
- to New York. The newer standards convertors do use block motion estimation; they
- are significantly more sophisticated than simple spatial/temporal interpolators.

- I have noticed the motion artifacts, but I it thought wasn't too bad (it's pretty
- hard to be "perfect" in a real-time system).

- But the really bad artifact is the ghosting about 1/2 microsecond to the right of
- almost any vertical edge.
