- I need to settle on some basic industry standard benchmarks for
- unix disk i/o. Could someone out there give me a description of iozone
- and iobench (??) , preferably including how to obtain the tests.
- Cost is not a big problem (within limits) so commercial programs
- are in the running. The key factors are a narrow focus on disk i/o,
- short run times (1-2 hours), and pervasive presence in the industry.
-
- The reason that I am not interested in a broader focus is that I am already
- running SPEC SDM/KENBUS, AIMIII, Neal Nelson BBM (18 and 30), the Byte
- Magazine UNIX benchmarks, and a few proprietary benchmarks.
