  11.   I need to settle on some basic industry standard benchmarks for
  12. unix disk i/o. Could someone out there give me a description of iozone
  13. and iobench (??) , preferably including how to obtain the tests.
  14. Cost is not a big problem (within limits) so commercial programs
  15. are in the running. The key factors are a narrow focus on disk i/o,
  16. short run times (1-2 hours), and pervasive presence in the industry.

  18. The reason that I am not interested in a broader focus is that I am already
  19. running SPEC SDM/KENBUS, AIMIII, Neal Nelson BBM (18 and 30), the Byte
  20. Magazine UNIX benchmarks, and a few proprietary benchmarks.
