- I understand the Spec92 series of benchmarks is available for a fee. This
- includes sources, subscriptions, etc. I was wondering if there was any way to
- get compiled binaries without any such fees. I am trying to compare old and
- new machines. Some vendors are supplying Spec92 figures, some Spec89 and
- others just Spec??. On older equipment (say an old Sun4) there are no (or
- older Spec89) figures.
-
- Thus the question. Is there a source for Spec92 *binaries* for use on various
- platforms. How does this effect the license for those with Spec92 sources (I
- don't care to modify it, I just want to be able to test it on a given
- platform(s) subjected to different loads). Similarly, does anyone have
- binaries for the x86 line. The 486 series seems to be closing the
- PC-Workstation gap fairly well (considering the price/performance ratio).
- Obviously this is mainly true for number crunching only.
