- @Man here, your friendly Geoworks FTP archive maintainer. I've got some
- good news, and some bad news. What do you want to hear first?
-
-
- The bad news?
-
- The bad news is that I can no longer maintain the Geoworks archive. In
- fact, it is probably going to go away sometime soon. Sniff.
-
- Are you ready for the good news?
-
- Are you sure?
-
- The good news is that, as some of you may have noticed, I have uploaded
- everything in the Geoworks archives, images, fonts, and all, to
- Simtel20, and by the magic of networks, daemons, and small filenames,
- onto all the mirror sites as well. This means that the files are now
- not only available for anonymous FTP from multiple locations world-wide,
- but are also available via various email servers! Hurrah!
-
- If you have new files, contact Keith Petersen,
- w8sdz@tacom-emh1.army.mil, the Simtel20 archive maintainer, to arrange
- an upload.
-
- To download files from simtel20 via anonymous FTP, use FTP to connect to
- Simtel20 [192.88.110.20], cd to PD1:<MSDOS.GEOWORKS>, turn on binary
- mode, and snarf away.
-
- For information on using FTP, using the trickle/earn/bitnet/whatever
- servers, consult the comp.os.msdos.archives newsgroup, or ask someone
- who appears to be knowledgeable.
-
- Finally, if you have a CD ROM drive, you may know that the Simtel20
- archives are available on CD ROM, updated quarterly. I would guess that
- the Geoworks files will all be on the next edition of the disc. They
- are damn cheap, $25 for hundreds of megabytes of data. For further
- information, see the alt.cd-rom FAQ.
-
- I hope all the donators of files keep uploading to simtel20. Once you
- get the directions from Keith, it's just as easy as uploading them to
- ecst.csuchico.edu was.

- I still maintain that we should plug the guitars in and attempt to play them.
