- There is now a mailing list for discussion regarding the Tk browser to
- World Wide Web. The address of the mailing list is
-
- tk-www@athena.mit.edu
-
- To get on the list, please send mail to
-
- tk-www-request@athena.mit.edu
-
- (For those who missed the original announcement of tkWWW ...... )
-
- World Wide Web is a initiative to create a world wide network of hypertext
- links. A number of different browsers for WWW are available, to get a
- sample of the browser for dumb terminals, telnet to "info.cern.ch"
-
- Tk is an interpreted language used to create X applications.
-
- TkWWW is a WWW broswer which uses Tk. The combination is particularly
- powerful because is allows users to include Tk "widgets" (buttons,
- scrollbars, etc.) in hypertext nodes. It is now in very early alpha
- test.
-
- tkWWW can be ftp'ed from export.lcs.mit.edu, barkley.berkeley.edu, and
- info.cern.ch. To compile it, you will also need the WWW line mode
- browser from info.cern.ch.
