  20. I have modified the "nfswatch" program, which is useful for gathering
  21. statistics about NFS operations, so that it understands FDDI packets
  22. as well as Ethernet packets.  So far, I have only done this for Ultrix
  23. systems (Ultrix version 4.2 or later, and if you have any flavor of
  24. 4.2 you will first have to apply the infamous "packet filter patches"
  25. to the kernel).

  27. If anyone with an FDDI-equipped SunOS system wants to try to make
  28. nfswatch work there, please send me the necessary modifications (once
  29. you are comfortable with them).  David Curry and I will integrate them
  30. into the next release of nfswatch.  I'm also curious to know if this
  31. version successfully compiles and runs on SunOS, even if it doesn't
  32. add FDDI support.

  34. Also, if anyone wants to port nfswatch to a system other than Ultrix
  35. or SunOS, we'd be happy to get the results of your efforts.
