- The Department of Applied Science and Engineering (ASE) at the Alfred
- I. duPont Institute and The University of Delaware is pleased to make
- available to the public via anonymous FTP freeware developed by the
- Technology Assessment Program (TAP) at the Gallaudet Research
- Institute, Washington, DC. This program, called ASCII-TDD, was
- designed to make it easy for people with IBM-compatible computers and
- Hayes compatible modems to communicate with deaf and hard of hearing
- people by telephone using ASCII code.
-
- This program will only communicate with TDD's using ASCII code; it will
- not communicate with TDD's using Baudot code.
-
- The TAP has set up a bulletin board system to answer users' questions
- and provide updates of the software. The BBS can be reached at (202)
- 544-3613.
-
- All questions concering the use of ASCII-TDD should be referred to the
- BBS; ASE is merely providing a public distribution point for this
- software.
