- My group provided the VAX-11/780 reference numbers to SPEC in 1989. The
- reference numbers do not change as new VAX compilers are introduced. If we
- tested the VAX-11/780 today, it could rate around 1.3 SPECmarks. The "reference"
- VAX-11/780 is actively used inside Digital to generate VUPs (VAX Units of
- Performance) for newer VAX systems; the latest compilers are used on both new
- and old machines. The machine is located in Boxboro, Mass.
