  13. You might want to check out Dr. Bart Kosko's book:

  18. He chatters a lot about hybrid fuzzy/NN systems, but more importantly,
  19. he discusses the use of NN learning techniques to train fuzzy expert
  20. systems.  In fact, we (Togai InfraLogic) have a commercial product
  21. available (TILGen) that uses this technique (among others).

  23. We are currently working on a genetic algorithm approach to fuzzy
  24. expert system training that seems to work *much* better.  It will be
  25. incorporated in the next generation of our products.

  27. Some papers (I have no titles, sorry) have been presented over the last
  28. few years on the subject of "self-organizing" fuzzy controllers, that is,
  29. fuzzy expert systems that modify themselves to (hopefully) improve their
  30. performance.  I'm not intimately familiar with the technique, so I'll
  31. let others discuss it.
