  21. I am a linguist (a phonetician, to be precise) working on speech
  22. recognition.  I would be very interested in starting a news group, either
  23. for pattern recognition in general or for speech processing in particular.
  24. My colleagues and I recently established a speech processing newsgroup in
  25. Japan -- fj.comp.speech -- and would like to see something similar here on
  26. Usenet.
