- Actually, once you get used to a helmet, you don't feel comfortable without it,
- even on a quick ride to the store, or a leisurely evening ride. I finally got
- one, wore it a few times, then felt "naked" riding without it.

- Another reason to wear the helmet on short rides is that most accidents
- probably happen in the first few minutes of a ride (of any length), as is the
- case with motorcycles. I forget the exact figures, but a large percentage of
- serious bicycle injuries (head injuries) happen when the bike is moving slowly
- or is standing still.

- be the first time you try it, but in a very short time you wonder how you got
- along without it. :)
