- I have a researcher here who wants to analyse data on
- pregnancy outcome using a technique called periodic regression
- analysis (PRA). The reference she has is to a text by CI Bliss,
- Statistics in Biology Vol II, McGraw-Hill.
- Now I suppose that there's something a lot more recent on the topic.
- More important, here's the model they want to test:
- Number of stillbirths (adjusted) = month of conception effect +
- month of stillbirth effect + time trend effect + weather variables.
- I suppose a lot of people on the list eat models like this for
- breakfast, but they're quite rare in medicine. So what's the
- technique of choice here, and can anyone recommend software -
- especially interested in software for micros which would allow
- the researcher more control over the analysis?
