- SUMMARY: Is there a 'most efficient' way to partition a large hard disk?

- I'm going to be trading in my 2-hard drive system for one with a 500 Meg
- IDE drive.
-
- While I've read that SAS performance is enhanced by having the executables,
- data, and work directories on different physical drives, I have not seen
- anything about whether placing the directories on different partitions of
- a large drive would help boost performance or not.
-
- Anyone have any experience or thoughts on whether 'tis better for performance
- to break up the large drive into several smaller partitions?
-
- As always, thanks in advance!
