- I propose one small change to LSYS/MSYS
- to greatly facilitate screen editing.
-
- If the RETURN key were treated as a TAB,
- and A FUNCTION KEY performed the "enter"
- function, then we could use WINDOWS (or
- similar) to CUT and PASTE and EDIT screens.
-
- NOW, when you CUT a screen to the NOTEPAD
- and EDIT it, RETURNs are appended to each
- line when you PASTE it back. These RETURNs
- invoke NOTIS processing, so you can edit only
- single lines.
-
- If the RETURNs were treated as TABs, the
- PASTE would skip to the next line and you
- could PASTE in a full screen or part of
- a screen (lines). You would then press
- the FUNCTION KEY to initiate the update.
-
-
- Of course, I realize that such a "small"
- change would require 8 months of analysis,
- 13 months of prograomming time, full BETA
- testing, and would eliminate the DISCHARGE
- function from the circ module.
-
- But, just a thought.
