  12. If you are contemplating loading records from the MARCIVE Enhanced GPO
  13. Database, and are planning to attend the LITA conference in September, then
  14. read on!

  16. This two-and-a-half hour session will answer the most asked questions about
  17. this popular service.  Librarians who have actually loaded the MARCIVE
  18. records as well as representatives from MARCIVE will present the information
  19. in a lively format designed to encourage audience participation.

  21. The preliminary agenda for the program includes:

  23.   1. Planning for loading GPO data into your local library system.  Designing
  24.      a loader program.
  25.  
  26.   2. Profiling for retrospective and ongoing cataloging records.  Special
  27.      attention given to maps and serials records.
  28.  
  29.   3. Authorities processing.
  30.  
  31.   4. Post-load considerations.
  32.  
  33.   5. Topics identified by registrants as pertinent to their own situation.
  34.  
  35. Systems librarians, government documents librarians, map librarians, and
  36. technical services librarians are most likely to benefit from the information
  37. exchanged in this meeting.
