- I think this latest installation of the 5.? OPAC fiasco should
- be called "Honey, I blew up the footers".

- At a conference in Urbana, Edward Tufte's comment on OPAC
- interfaces was as follows (not verbatum):
- You have two intelligent machines (a user and a database)
- using an interface (the terminal screen-24x80) which
- uses 2% of our visual ability. (He was not impressed.)

- Now we have NOTIS reducing the window for the actual data even
- more. The prompts are rapidly learned by a regular user.
- The only prompt you really need is HELP for what to do next.
- I suggest we ask NSI to reduce, not increase the size of the
- footer. Unless its all an evil plot to make us want and buy
- PRO-PAC?
