  12. I think this latest installation of the 5.? OPAC fiasco should
  13. be called "Honey, I blew up the footers".

  15. At a conference in Urbana, Edward Tufte's comment on OPAC
  16. interfaces was as follows (not verbatum):
  17.   You have two intelligent machines (a user and a database)
  18.   using an interface (the terminal screen-24x80) which
  19.   uses 2% of our visual ability. (He was not impressed.)

  21. Now we have NOTIS reducing the window for the actual data even
  22. more. The prompts are rapidly learned by a regular user.
  23. The only prompt you really need is HELP for what to do next.
  24. I suggest we ask NSI to reduce, not increase the size of the
  25. footer. Unless its all an evil plot to make us want and buy
  26. PRO-PAC?
