- Blum himself in his doc says not to use EMM386.exe, rather to
- use _his_ driver which is distributed (at least from my local
- BBS) w/i the same zip package. The trouble is, the combo of Blum+Blum
- doesn't seem to work with Hyperware, a package I am _very_ pleased
- with. Pursuant to suggestions from Itamar and Paul, should I
- define C000-C4000 as my "base" page area, and then cause UMB
- to "ignore" that with a - sign in the 9th and 10th slot of the/M switch?;
- moreover, what should I tell the AMI advanced-chipset
- BIOS routine for those areas: shadow disable or enable? (I initially
- disabled all shadow ram, per I E-Z's instructions--which means that
- that RAM is made available for UMB, right?.
-
- I do know that the relation of /M switch and the BIOS settings is
- critical: I've never seen my machine do such strange things when
- dying: screaming beeps, pretend-to-work then give "stack overflow,"
- etc.
-
- Let me add that I appreciate the help you are all giving
- on this subject, one apparently bigger than I can chew.
