- We too (librarians and the Curriculum Dean) were interested in the funding
- of journal subscriptions for medical students, and the "literacy" rate of
- the students over a period of time. Perhaps the staff at McMaster could
- let us all know how that came to pass...
-
- Here we've had another experience on a smaller scale: a particular drug
- company has various individuals (faculty and students in hem/onc)
- evaluate CAI programs, and if it the programs are judged valuable for the
- students and the curriculum here, the programs are donated to the school.
- The programs are then loaded onto workstations in the Library Computer
- Area for general use of our primary clientele (faculty, students and staff).
-
- This particular company has not contacted the library directly, but we are
- considering contacting the company's reps. The library also sits on the CAI
- committee and is proposing that this committee actively seek out educationaly
- support from this and other companies.
-
-
- p.s. The programs do have a screen or two of advertising; and we don't take
- programs which promote the drug company's products.
