- POSITION

- Assistant Reference Librarian, with the rank of Assistant
- Librarian/Senior Assistant Librarian, depending upon qualifications.

- POSITION DESCRIPTION
-
- Member, Information Services Division of the College Libraries.
- Provides AFTERNOON and EVENING HOUR (at least three evenings until
- 10:00 p.m.) assistance to students, faculty and community residents
- using new online catalog, CD-ROM databases and conventional print
- sources. Acts as professional advisor to 1.5 FTE support staff who
- manages busy interlibrary loan department. Additional
- responsibilities include participation in reference collection
- development, bibliographic instruction, and other related functions
- as assigned. Is responsible to the Head Reference Librarian.

- QUALIFICATIONS

- Required: ALA accredited MLS degree and interlibrary loan
- experience. Desirable: Academic reference experience, bibliographic
- instruction experience, knowledge of library computer applications,
- natural science or social science background. Appointee MUST be
- willing to assume AFTERNOON-EVENING schedule. Weekend work is
- assigned on a rotating schedule.

- SALARY

- $23,400 or $26,900 for 12-month professional obligation, depending
- upon rank.

- EMPLOYEE BENEFITS

- Liberal employee benefits include a choice of several retirement
- program, optional individual or family health insurance plans, begin
- with 15 vacation days accrued annually, and sick leave accumulated at
- a rate of one and one-quarter days for each month worked. Standard
