- Hello folks;
-
- Our current color graphics plotter is ancient and no longer works. As such,
- we have a need here for a new color graphics plotter/printer. We are in the
- market for a printer or plotter that has the following capabilites:
-
- 1> Compatible with output from SAS 6.0x, SPSS, and Displa.
- 2> Does color of course
- 3> Preferably publication quality output if not too costly.
- 4> Low main costs such as using regular Xerox type printer paper
- 5> Easy for operators to support
- 6> Speaks Postscript if applications require it.
- 7> It would be nice if this thing can be put on our local ethernet so
- that both our Unix and CMS users to benefit from it.
-
- Does anyone know of any good color graphics printers with some or all of
- these features? Which do you recommend? We do not do a huge amount of color
- output, I'de guess maybe a hundred or so pages a month as a max even
- including our Unix people.
-
- We use VMaccount to track computer usage. My boss thinks that it may be
- necessary to charge users for color printing. How is this handled at other
- IBM sites? We do not charge for other IBM services though, but we do track
- them closely.
