  13. I'm new to the Bay Area and have just moved into an apartment in Fremont. I'm
  14. not certain of which newspaper to subscribe.

  16. I've narrowed my choices to the SF Chronicle
  17.                 SF Examiner
  18.                 SJ Mercury News
  19.                 Argus

  21. I'm looking for a quality newspaper from front page up to the classifieds.  I
  22. think I'm one of the few who actually reads most of the paper, including the
  23. front section, business, sports, comics, and "style/scene/living" sections. 
  24. Since I'm new to the area, national news is more important to me than local
  25. news.  And I'd prefer an afternoon paper but would be willing to let it sit
  26. all day if it's significantly better than the other papers.

  28. My initial impression:  Argus is a superlocal paper that I don't need.
  29.             SF Examiner is more 'tabloidish' than the Chronicle,
  30.                but it comes in the afternoon. -its comic section
  31.                really needs help.
  32.             Chronicle gives up color for more substance. It's in
  33.                the morning, but it has better (if fewer) comics.
  34.             The SJ Merc News has supercomics but concentrates a
  35.                lot on Silicon Valley (surprise).

  37. I'd appreciate your impressions/opinions/etc.  Post responses or e-mail me
  38. if you think this is a waste of bandwidth.
