- not read it myself but some years ago i read a quote from it : "the meaning
- of a word is the meaning given to it by society". i'm sure old ludwig would
- extend this to spelling and pronunciation. ever since then i've stopped
- sneering at people who talk of "prestigious cars" or "nice days"
