- Couple of questions... Just installed SunOS 4.1.2 on our of
- our Sun IPC's...
-
- 1) How do I get utilities like 'telnet' and 'ftp' to look at
- the info I have put in /etc/resolv.conf? nslookup does,
- but telnet and ftp insist on using /etc/hosts. We have some
- other Suns running 4.1.1 and who are NOT running 'named' and
- who's telnet and ftp make use of a remote name server automatically.
-
- 2) The 'out-of-box' sendmail.cf in /etc seems to need some tweaking.
- Apparently it has some default fields that are generic after install
- that when sending mail to other hosts they don't like. What are
- the minimally required edits to this file to make things work nicely
- and/or is there a nice sendmail.cf generator (friendly front-end)
- that can re-do one.
-
- Thanks!
