  12. I would like to highly recommend a book called ASSHOLE NO MORE.
  13. It is by Xavier Crement, M.D. and is a self-help guide for 
  14. recovering assholes and their victims. I can think of several 
  15. people I could send it to on these nets with sincerest hope that 
  16. it would lead to recovery.

  18. The introduction begins thusly: "Like almost everyone else, I have 
  19. been dealing with assholes all my life. For most fo this time, 
  20. however, I have been, like most of society, trapped in our age-
  21. old concepts of assholism. Failing to recognize it as a disease, 
  22. I simply accepted it as a character flaw that could be modified 
  23. or eliminated at will."

  25. "I have now come to understand the true nature of assholism. It 
  26. is an addiction as bad as alcoholism, chemical dependency, or 
  27. codependency. It afflicts major portions of the population---yet 
  28. most assholes are not the least bit aware that they are 
  29. assholes!"

  31. The author goes on to describe certain characteristics that can 
  32. be ascribed to common assholes, which are: "blind selfishness, 
  33. unrestrained obnoxiousness, arrogant righteousness, an asbestos-
  34. proof conscience (it won't even burn in hell), rejection of 
  35. human decency, merciless exploitation of the innocent," and 
  36. there are more, too many to name here.

  38. The author, who is not a psychiatrist use to be an asshole 
  39. himself, when he was a proctologist. He names other high risk 
  40. groups of assholes. Here are just a few: "male nurses, Internal 
  41. Revenue Service agents, cops, bureaucrats, lawyers, other 
  42. doctors, Anyone who drives as if he or she owns the road, 
  43. evangelists, congressmen, bill collectors, People who play car 
  44. stereos at full volume, parents of kids who run wild in public 
  45. places," et al.
