  26. While I think that a person teaching such hateful things should
  27. be dismissed from their teaching position, I don't think the
  28. government should jail people for "willfully promoting hatred".
  29. Such governmental powers to regulate speech are far more dangerous
  30. than private citizens expressing their opinions, regardless of
  31. how loathesome.  Those who burn crosses on lawns or deface
  32. synagogues can be prosecuted under other laws such as criminal
  33. tresspass and perhaps additions to these laws can be made to
  34. stiffen the penalties if such hate acts are involved.
