- Someone asked about zip, arj, lzh, etc archive file formats (I can't do
- a "fancy" reply coz he cross-posted to comp.sys.msdos.programmer - a
- non-group, officially deleted/discontinued/whatever yonks ago - and my
- news reader won't allow me to followup posts with invalid groups in the
- "Newsgroups:" header line).
-
- For .zip, snarf the Info-Zip Group's unzip source (available at any good
- DOS ftp site). It handles .zips, be they "straight" or self-x'ing. I
- think it has something to do with the "central directory" structure,
- which either resides at the very end of any zip file or which is pointed
- to by a pointer at the .zips end.
-
- Good luck with the others. 8-)
