- In my reference books pertaining to the Imperial Japanese Navy of World War II,
- all make reference to the color "silver grey" or "medium gray" found on the
- above waterline structures of a warship. Although this color was found in
- many different shades on many vessels, I am curious to know if any model
- paint company makes this color. I have mixed my own in the proportions given
- in the reference books: 15% black, 75% white, 6% brown, and 4% blue. I know
- that many companies make "greys" but I wish to be as accurate as possible
- so just "any" grey will just not do. My task would be made much easier if
- I had some color photos of the actual ships(I don't even think they exist).
- Unfortunately, I am left to study black and white photographs, paintings,
- and "catalog pictures" of the models. Hopefully, some of you out there will
- know if the color exists. In any case, thanks for your help and response.
- I greatly appreciate it.
