  14. A lot's been said on the (de)merits of creating the group rec.models.scale,
  15. but allow me to put in MY .02/worth:

  17. The groups rec.models.rc, rec.models.railroad, etc. are *subject*-specific,
  18. at least by name. On closer examination, I would suspect, one would find
  19. lots of *technique* discussed which is applicable to all forms of modelling.

  21. The discussions in alt.models, thankfully, are a mixture of subject, style,
  22. and technique. We have cars/planes/AFV's/trucks/rockets/fantasy/sci-fi; we
  23. have style (scale, phantoms, non-scale, quasi-functional); and we have
  24. *buckets* of technique - airbrushing/painting, bonding, assembly, etc. Small
  25. wonder we have a problem coming up with a title (other than rec.models) into
  26. which everything will fit.

  28. Frankly, I don't care *what* it's called, as long as (1) people can continue
  29. to post; (2) "circulation" goes up; (3) a variety of interests are catered to.
