- Here come the first known bugs...

- You are by far not the only one reporting this...
- Well *I* have actually encountered this problem during development and
- tried out several ways of fixing it. It seems to be a bug in the
- TextEdit toolbox, i.e. in the Mac System Software which seemingly
- - redraws text inserted into an *INactive* window only in the portion
- of the window which is the biggest rectangle inside the visible
- region (i.e. not covered by other windows)
- and can be fixed with InvalRect'ing the whole window after an insert
- which causes an annoying flickering and therefore has been taken out.
- (Puh.) Switching windows causes an update of the windows just for this
- reason, as it would be unnecessary otherwise.
-
- According to the above description, this error should
- - appear only in windows being NOT active and
- - be possible to avoid by placing all windows non-overlapping.
- If it indeed does occur in an active window, there is still another
- bug which I should track down.

- are these IRC servers or FTP locations?
- For servers, this really should make no difference as the window
- problem is 100% a client programming issue.
- For FTPs, I can guarantee that all have an identical version of the
- program.

- Which never should occur as it is programmed dogmatically adhering to
- Inside Macintosh. (And I have such programs running, too.)

- I never had problems distinguishing these two things :-)
-
- Two other bugs have been reported (and are fixed).
- - 'Cannot join channel' message appears twice
- - 'xxx has a connection to the twilight zone' message appears in the
- wrong window.
-
- P.S. Followups to alt.irc only!
