  14. My apologies to all Americans, who are not IrcOp for EGO reasons and are not
  15. IrcAdmins for EGO reasons and felt that I have addressed my flame to
  16. them! This is NOT what I wanted!

  25. I didn't flame that my country is better than yours, not even all countries
  26. are better than US.

  28. What I said was (and what should become clear, if you read my flame carefully):
  29. 1) That the biggest contingent of IRC Servers is from US
  30. 2) That most of them are there for EGO reasons (and so not really needed)
  31. 3) That most of the Ops in US are Ops for EGO reasons (and so not really needed)!
  32. 4) That most of the admins of THOSE servers and THOSE Ops think that US is
  33.    the best ... rules the world and this stuff.
  34. 5) That most of THEM should consult a psychiater!

  36. 1), 2) and 3) I think are facts.
  37. 4) is my theory (which I get from the actions and /WALLOPS (from the time we
  38.    has them))
  39. 5) I wrote this, 'cause I was really angry and it was mainly meant to one
  40.    person! (But I still think someone who thinks that his country rules the
  41.    world should consult a psychater - no matter what country he is from)

  44. 1) ALL americans are morons/insane
  45. 2) my country is better than yours

  47. I too, don't think there are any problems with being proud of my country,
  48. but that doesn't mean that I close my eyes to all the things that are
  49. bad (and every country has things that are good and things that are bad)

  52. Some comments to explain my anger:
  53. Mostly speaking for the situation in Germany (even it is/may be true for some
  54. other countries, too)

  56. We are not so lucky to have T1 links. The IRC community (or mostly the Admins)
  57. have to struggle and fight to not get the IRC ports because of the amount of
  58. traffic.
  59. We try to keep the number of servers down, try to set up bandwidth-saving
  60. links and try to get a limited number of reasonable Ops.

  62. These actions do not only help us, but the whole IRCnet, as less server
  63. information is spread around, there is less /KILLing and /WALLOPing. All these
  64. saves net-bandwidth, not only for us, but for the whole IRCnet.
  65. This also leads to a more mature relation with resources.

  67. As this situation applies in general for all of the Euopean countries,
  68. the EBIC (European Board of IRC Coordinators) has been formed with the
  69. intention to reduce unnecessary traffic, get better connectivity and some
  70. rules for adding new servers.
  71. However this rules are not binding and may be overridden by each country.
  72. (which does not happen - at least now).

  74. I can understand that those from US with a bunch of T1 links and no such
  75. problems don't want rules and cry "IRC is an anarchy" and "IRC is for FUN",
  76. but that doesn't mean that I have to like it.
  77. There had been a lot of backbone plans for the US, but none of them ever
  78. worked! Did you ever ask yourself why?

  87. Don't you think that someone, who is down to hell, 'cause that bitch of
  88. a girl he knew from IRC and he was so in love with left him, who on the
  89. other day writes "IRC is fun" and on the next day says "I have a new love
  90. and it's serious this time", who himself says he's Op only for being Op
  91. and because it's cool.
  92. Don't you think that someone like him really has some problems, and isn't
  93. too mature?
  94. (or maybe he's simply too young. And in this case I don't think he should
  95. have as much responsibility as I think an Op has (or at least should have).
